Working on New Series of Altered Photography

This is one in a series of digitally altered photos which are abstract in nature. If you look closely at this one, you can see the artists (my) eyes in one of the circles.

I will be adding the series to my website in the near future.

but you can see it in my portfolio now.

What I do for a living....well, I wish it were enough to live on!

Did you ever ask yourself, "Gee I wonder what an artist/photographer does everyday to make a living?" Well, I can tell you what I do. Every creative person has their own ways of doing things and creating. Art is as diverse as the universe. To me, creativty and diversity go hand in hand. I can only speak for myself.
My creativity can be anything from painting, taking photographs, altering images on the computer or manually, writing these goofy blogs, marketing my art, sewing, crafting, decorating...the list goes on and on. Lately, I've been concentrating on my paintings and my digital art. My digital paintings are basically digital photography that is altered digitally with a software program. Alterations can be as simple as changing a photo from color to infrared or sepia, to as complicated as altering the pixels to make various color, subject, & textural differences. I can take a photo of say, a flower, and make it into something that looks like an abstract painting. Or I can take an abstract-like photo and turn it into something that may look like a flower garden. It's fun and challenging and I love the different effects that I can create. Another thing that I love to do is to incorporate these photos (usually pieces of them) into my acrylic and mixed media paintings or use them as the basis of the painting by actually painting on them. There is no limit to what can be created. My head is usually spinning with ideas.
